Kate Granger Building
The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at Surrey University is internationally renowned for expertise in learning, teaching and world class research.
This expertise is supported by first class facilities housed in the newly refurbished Kate Granger building which now provides the highest quality education, support and simulation facilities for staff and students.
These facilities include a technologically enabled teaching space, a 171 capacity learning space, a simulation suite, learning lab, virtual environment, support office, coffee shop and social space within the atrium, office space for 190 staff and parking for 250 vehicles.
Our role in this major renovation project was to provide a full Mechanical and Electrical installation. Electrically we installed all small power, lighting, data, security and fire alarms. Mechanically, a new ventilation system, Variant Refrigerant Flow (VRF) air conditioning, water distribution systems and medical gas installation. A particular challenge was the need to deploy a very large tower crane to completely remove the roof in order to install ventilation plant.
The new centre opened in the spring of 2019.
