Miller & Carter
If you will forgive the pun, the challenge for us was ‘gutting’ the old fish market in Cardiff, a beautiful old building in the centre of the city which originally opened its’ doors for business in 1901.
The site was recently acquired by Miller and Carter who have 35 restaurants across the UK. Ironically, given the building’s former use, Miller and Carter specialise in the highest quality steaks all sourced from cattle reared on sustainable British farms.
This was a major electrical and mechanical project which amounted to completely stripping out and refurbishing an existing building that is well over one hundred years old. The real challenge was the ‘look’. Our clients were keen to achieve a contemporary, ‘industrial’ feel to the restaurant and to have not only the kitchen area but all lighting trunking and ductwork exposed at ceiling level.
We worked closely with our clients to a very detailed spec and were all delighted with the results. Hope that the images above will give you a ‘flavour’ of what we achieved.
